It's been a crazy week to say the least. I don't remember a spring as bad as this one. Last Sunday at 2:30a Omaha was hit with an F1 and F2 tornado. We were in the path of the F1 which uprooted two of my favorite trees. The F2 that passed us by about a mile did a lot of damage to homes, businesses and trees. We were lucky that we only lost two trees and that no one in the entire city was hurt.
It could have been worse. Three of the four Boy Scouts who died in Little Sioux, Iowa were from Omaha. The entire city is in mourning. It hit me hard since my son is a cub scout and the camp that was destroyed is where he goes to camp. I tried to shield Colin from all the media but to no avail. He's at that age where he's beginning to understand death and it's finality. He asked me why it happened and I wish I could have given him an answer but we all know there is no "why". My son's Cub Scout Pack is working with some of the local Troops to come together and help rebuild the camp.
I hope the rest of the season is uneventful. We all need a break.
Peace to all...

Glad to know that your family is alright.
